SUB/Stance. proudly presents Submerged (Brooklyn, USA) for his first ever visit to Perth to celebrate 25 years of ground breaking music with his label, Ohm Resistance. A night of darkness, Industrial Neurofunk and truly underground Drum & Bass.
For those unfamiliar, SUBMERGED creates turbulent chaos music, grooves which pulsate into offworld dimension codes, basses constructed from synthetic alien growth hormone, and overlaid with atmosphere melacholia.
Beginning his journey in music as a drum & bass DJ in Washington DC, he created the world renowned OHM RESISTANCE label, which started life as a vinyl-only drum & bass outlet in 1999. The label became a genre defining force, nurturing the creative output of early neurofunk pioneers including himself, Sinthetix, Kiko, Quiot, Temulent, Knuckledown, Impulse & Corrupt Souls, and paved the way for the darker, industrial side of the style to critical acclaim. Submerged was instrumental in pushing the sound and style beyond it's limits, showing artists and the world the unimaginable possibilities of sound technology and performance.
The Ohm Resistance operation was moved to Brooklyn in 2003, where Submerged began to collaborate with artists from all genres; styles worldwide became a reference point, and source of interwoven languages.

Death Cube K, with Buckethead

Live and improvised music, cutting and arranging beats behind musicians, became the standard on stage. DJing continued globally from the UK to Brazil, to Estonia, to Germany, to Ukraine, as far as Kazakhstan.
The noise as format for opposition. The groove as method of inception and then smash it to pieces. A forever defiance, as expressed through sound.
Join us for a very special night celebrating the history and future of Ohm Resistance and it's monumental contribution to Drum & Bass where Submerged will be showcasing his next full length album "Prosperity", due in the fall of 2024. A return to the sound of native Neurofunk.
Support will be provided by Ohm Resistance contributor Jaise, SUB/stance. resident Syrus and a special appearance to open from Basonik, a conoissuer of the Avant Garde and the tastefully abstract.
